Where Our Farm Data Comes From

Accuracy is the whole point of a directory. Every one of our 51,209 listings comes from an official federal or state government source, never scraped from social media or copied from other directories.

How we build the directory

We combine the USDA Local Food Directories, the USDA Organic INTEGRITY database of certified organic operations, the USDA National Farmers Market Directory, and the published directories of more than thirty state departments of agriculture and their official programs. Records are matched across sources, deduplicated, and located using the US Census Bureau geocoder. When we can only place a farm approximately, the farm’s page says so.

Farms change. If you spot an error, or you run a farm and want your listing updated, tell us here and we will fix it.
